Bali 10s Bali 10s is shaping up to be the biggest event of the year (after the 40th anniversary of course) and team deposits need to be placed soon to secure positions. Basically it’s an international rugby 10s competition held on the 10th and 11th of October. Occasionally some rugby is played but from what I’ve heard that just gets in the way of a good party... Because of the high demand for team positions Bali Rugby has asked us to secure a position as soon as possible. At this stage we will be entering one team, however depending on the amount of people wanting to come a second may be entered. Therefore any expressions of interest need to be made as soon as possible either to Mullins (0420 997 516) or Pommie (0417 955 251). On top of this an individual deposit of $100 needs to be paid by the 23rd of May. Bali 10s Update & Air Asia Bali 10s is a definite go ahead with an overwhelming response! Therefore as a follow up from the last article, this is a reminder to get your $100 deposit in by the 23rd May. Also it may be a good idea to book your flight now. At the moment there are some pretty fantastic deals with Air Asia to fly to Bali for $300 return for the time period of the games. So get in early and don’t miss out on a great deal. Quiz Night & 40th Anniversary Both the quiz night and 40th Anniversary are still a few months away but for those people that like to be organised remember to keep the following dates free: Quiz Night: 4th July 40th Anniversary: 5th September Goat Wine No it’s not wine made from goats but rather a special edition Curtin Goats 40th anniversary wine made by various vineyards. With a few different types of wine available, all great tasting, it’s a steal at $10 a bottle. It will be available behind the bar so remember to pick up a couple next home game! Sports Strapping Course A sports strapping course will be held soon at the rugby club. If anybody wants to learn how to do strapping and are willing to lend a hand before the game please express your interest with Alan on 0439 901 372. Emergency Response Plan After the recent neck injury that Pete sustained at training it is essential for us as a club to create an appropriate emergency response outline. As such anyone with a senior first aid certificate that would be willing to have their name on a poster as a “go to” person in case of an emergency please contact Alan on 0439 901 372 or email alanfaulkner@iinet.net.au. Golden Oldies The over 35 comp will be kicking off soon and any interested is invited to join the Irish Expats. The Goats have strong ties with the Irish Expats and last year they were a major sponsor, so anyone interest or just keen to see some old men do what they know best, go to the following address to get some info:
